Integrating Experimental Design and Statistical Control for Quality Improvement

The JQT Editorial Review Board instituted the Lloyd S. Nelson Award recognizing the article in the most recent volume, beginning with Volume 35 (2003), having the "greatest immediate impact to practitioners." The Statistics Division of ASQ, headed by Chair Davis Balestracci, carefully studied the articles appearing in last year’s issues. We greatly appreciate the dedication and effort of Davis and the others participating in the review process. Their report announcing the first recipient of the Lloyd S. Nelson Award follows.
